I just wrote my Verilog source file to drive the 2 on-board 7-segment LED units so that they auto-increment and display decimal number from 01 to 99 continuously. The source code is ok but i have found that both the 2x 7-segment unit and the MXO2 were very hot, after just less than 20 seconds of running! I check the STEP board schematic and found that there is NO resistor around the 7-segment units to limit the current. In contrast, there are 1K resistors around the discrete LEDs as well as the tri-color LED. like to know the reason for not including current limiting resistors for the said 7-segment LED units the soonest. Thanks
